Northwards to Canada
Spring, or early summer is slowly arriving. In the valleys trees get foliage; on the hills snow remains in many places. Temperatures around 25°C on a sunny day, 4° if it rains/snows. Our trip thru Montana to the Glacier National Park which is still closed to a large extent. Then on to Canada.
Thru Historic Rocky Towns to the Great Plains
High, snow covered mountains dotted with old mining towns. The most visited national park in the US and the journey thru the Great Plains – a vast grassland – with unlimited horizons and some views.
Baja California! Baja California? – the Great Hype Adapted Version
Finally we’re out of the US. Drive down Mexico’s Baja California. A long stretch thru the desert, some interesting towns, many desperate villages and some beaches. The latter – maybe we’ve expected a bit more.
Between the Desert’n’the Rockies
The east of Utah’s desert with its famous parks – Capitol Reef, Canyonlands and Arches. The west of Colorado with the Rocky Mountains. A change from early summer to late winter within an hour or 2. A mix of heat’n’dust and cold’n’snow.
Hiking the Desert – National Parks in the South West
It’s not the Sahara, nor the Gobi. But somehow after a few days we even get a kind of a desert feeling in the US: a dusty car, hot sun, cold nights, grinding of the teeth, hikes in the sand, … A visit to some of America’s most famous national parks.
To Start a Perfect Day – the Real American Breakfast
Well, all over the world most people have some breakfast. Some just drink a coffee. Others need a croissant they can soak in the coffee until it’s enough soft to eat without dentures.
Back to America
Hibernation ends. We’re back to Las Vegas. A journey thru America’s desert begins: Crossing northern Arizona to Grand Canyon and on to Page to visit the famous slot canyons.
