From the Maya inhabited highlands around Lake Atitlan to some of Guatemala’s finest colonial towns: among them Quetzaltenango, Retalhulau and Antigua.
A visit to Semuk Champey along the mountains to Nebaj and down to Lake Atitlan, Finally a visit to the incredible market of Chichicastenango.
A journey to San Ignacio and Caracol in Belize, on to Guatemala: FLores, Tikal and Yaxha. Again a different world.
After 2 months in Mexico we enter a world pretty different: Belize. Anglophone, still many curiosities only found in British ex-colonies. Despite rather rainy weather a journey thru Belize’s small towns, villages and to the beach.
Yes, it’s worse than we thought. A trip thru Mexico’s tourist hot spots. Chichen Itza, colonial Valladolid and along the the not so pristine Maya Coast.
Just a few days and this year’s X-Max is on the honorable heap of history. We’re on our way thru Yucatan’s flatland. Beautiful Campeche, touristy Uxmal Maya ruins, slightly disappointing Merida. And some more adventures, including some socializing with the all-beloved police.
From San Cristobal to Yucatan’s flatlands. Visits to famous and remote Maya ruins. Mystical, overgrown places in the dense forest.
South of Mexico City everything changes a little bit. Towns are less dandified, the landscape wilder, even people are different. A trip to Oaxaca, the Pacific Coast and finally to San Cristobal in Chiapas.
Imagine you climb some of the biggest prehistoric pyramids in Mexico. To discover how big the Avenue of the Dead of this town was. Then you visit 2 of the most magical villages (towns) in the country: Taxco and Puebla.
