Back to the Desert – New Mexico
Driving to the west. Leaving Route 66 for Santa Fe and Taos, then crossing New Mexico’s desert to sleepy Farmington.

Turning westwards. Direction of San Diego in California. Thru weird places in America’s most conservative area and approaching famous Route 66. Finally astonished why everybody hypes up Route 66.
America’s south. Lively New Orleans, rather sleepy Memphis. Along the Mississippi River. On the traces of eventful episodes of American history. Events still strongly influencing todays life.
Crossing Texas from West to East. Strange towns, a weird city and finally a great idea on how to continue our trip. Thank you, NASA for the support.
Thru the desert of New Mexico and Texas’ west. Lonely landsacapes full of flowers, pretty rough’n’rundown villages.
Out of Las Vegas. South-east to the Mexicyn border. Small towns; desert; some national parks; America western style. Few Mexicans.
Back in Swizzyland. Leaving sleepy Laufaburg for more lively Lucerne. And difficult decisions to take due to the insecurity in the places we want to visit soon – at least as we’ve learned from certain sources.
Further along California’s coast. Beach resorts, Big Sur and the way to Las Vegas to prepare for this year’s hibernation.
We’re in California. Along the Pacific Coast to San Francisco. It’s summer holidays. Everybody at the sea, all crowded, full. Queuing-up wherever you can imagine. Definitely for overlanders not the time to visit. Nevertheless, traveling a long time also means to survive peak periods.
An epic journey along Oregon’s pacific coast. A somehow inconsistent mix of georgeous, well protected seashores and crowded beach resorts with all (in)conveniences of the American way of life.
