The east of Utah’s desert with its famous parks – Capitol Reef, Canyonlands and Arches. The west of Colorado with the Rocky Mountains. A change from early summer to late winter within an hour or 2. A mix of heat’n’dust and cold’n’snow.
It’s not the Sahara, nor the Gobi. But somehow after a few days we even get a kind of a desert feeling in the US: a dusty car, hot sun, cold nights, grinding of the teeth, hikes in the sand, … A visit to some of America’s most famous national parks.
Well, all over the world most people have some breakfast. Some just drink a coffee. Others need a croissant they can soak in the coffee until it’s enough soft to eat without dentures.
Hibernation ends. We’re back to Las Vegas. A journey thru America’s desert begins: Crossing northern Arizona to Grand Canyon and on to Page to visit the famous slot canyons.
Hola a todos. Visiblemente hemos apprendido un nuevo idioma durante nuestra hibernacion – al meo un poco. Nevertheless, don’t be afraid we’re not yet ready to edit our posts in south-east Chilean Spanish. For the time being we’ll continue in our kind of English.
Winter is approaching fast in the north. Southwards to Las Vegas, a trip to the Death Valley and the preparation for hibernation.
Seasons change: from autumn to winter and back. A journey from mild Washington State to Indian summer in the Yellowstone and Teton National Parks.
A journey thru Washington State. Cool Seattle, depressing Tacoma. The volcanoes of the Pacific Rim and Olympic Peninsula. High up in the snow and along beautiful beaches. And our car arrives in the US, passes US customs and gets repaired.
Through September 2017 we drove thru South Korea. Here some practical information about the journey.
Strange these American countries; just doing nothing on Vancouver Island. Maybe the most boring post ever. Whatever, still a few nice beach pics.
