7 days, nearly 4000km thru Siberia and the Russian Far East. Good roads, endless forests and weather getting increasingly rainy. But also a visit to lost villages and towns spread, breathing still the spirit of the good old Soviet Union.
Ulaan Bataar – Mongolia’s capital. On to Russia, westwards to Lake Baikal and Irkutsk, Siberia’s very own Venice.
Leaving Russia we cross western Kazakhstan to reach the north of Uzbekistan along the Silk Road. 2 quite different countries.
After a few days in Ukraine we drive on to Russia. Another 1500km to reach Kazakhstan. Despite all we may read in our newspapers we find a quite neat and organised country.
