We had a slight problem with the clutch. The real problem was not 2 replace it. U just go 2 Toyota, to order the spare parts, organise them for fitting it- that’s all.Financially it’s slightly different: you pay the parts and the labour and make the sum. To this you add the VAT and you know how much money to get out of your pocket into the other one. To facilitate this process normally the approach of fund rising is used: So we went singing in the streets of Grahamstown. For reasons absolutely out of our control and understanding the streets emptied immediately. After a few days of intense reflection we decided that the strategy might be wrong and has to be changed. We developed a new one: the economics of wine drinking.
We went to PicknPay looking at the price of a good bottle of wine. Of course, we found it – an Allesverloren, Tinta Barroca: costs 76.35 Rand for a bottle. To economise and in view to finance our clutch, we bought a bottle of Nederburg Baronne. Really not so good, but 32.99 only. This way we already could have a benefit of 76.35- 32.99= 53.36 for each bottle.
Our clutch costs 7500 Rand. So you can imagine we needed quite some drinking to raise all this money by drinking cheap wine. But we did not discourage. After the 1st evening we found the solution as we could not drink that fast: we invited a lot of people to join drinking cheap wine instead of expensive one. With each bottle we raised another 53.36 Rands and some 150 bottles later, we could go to Toyota to pay the bill. Easy isn’t it.
